We conduct research in information security, human-computer interaction, and multidisciplinary areas at the intersection of computing and society. We are always looking for outstanding and highly motivated candidates. If you believe you are a strong fit, we encourage you to apply for a Ph.D. or RA position with us.
Basic Requirements (All Applicants)
Candidates must demonstrate strong commitment and dedication to research (e.g., prior research experience, RA experience, or equivalent). We are looking for students who are willing to devote substantial effort to academic research.
For University of Macau (UM) Students
Students who are interested in pursuing a Ph.D. with me are required to first apply for a Research Assistant (RA) position.
You should have taken at least one course taught by me and achieved an A grade; or
Have an overall GPA of at least 3.7 at UM
In addition, a minimum of one year of research collaboration (e.g., RA work and thesis supervision under me) is required to assess research ability and mutual fit before formal Ph.D. admission.
Interested UM students should send me their CV and UM transcript directly by email.
For Non-UM Students
We do not recruit external candidates for RA positions. Instead, we only consider candidates with strong potential for direct Ph.D. admission.
In principle, we do not accept external applicants
Exceptions may be considered only if you are recommended by your advisor
In such cases, please include:
CV
Academic transcript
A clear statement of research interests and how you envision collaborating with me
A short-term collaborative research project may be required to assess compatibility with our group.

Our recruitment follows the University of Macau’s application cycles:

⚠️ Applying through the university system without contacting me in advance does not guarantee admission.
